Thousands of white lights shimmering like stars through the olive branches, bonfires illuminating the stone, the sound of “zampogne” (the traditional bagpipes of the South of Italy), in our Piazza, enriched by jute ornaments and by the scent of “pettole” (typical Puglian fried dough) and almond sweets. It's Christmas, reaching the alleys of the Borgo and bringing a pleasantly unexpected atmosphere to the charm of Puglia in wintertime.
Christmas markets are back. A unique occasion to experience the magic of Christmas in “Puglian style”. The Piazza will be the heart of the evening, with the tasting of typical products and stands enlivened by the local artisans. Moreover, some Casettas will be turned into suggestive “Botteghe” (old-style workshops), allowing you to discover local crafts and Apulian flavours: “Casa dell’Artigiano” (Artisan’s house), “Casa delle Bambole” (Doll’s House), and “Casa dei Sapori” (House of Flavours) will welcome adults and little ones! In addition, the “Casa di Borgo Egnazia” will be the meeting place to discover novelties and curiosities on Borgo Egnazia, together with experiences not to be missed during the year.
Let yourself be totally enchanted by the Borgo’s magic and find out that Puglia can be unforgettable in wintertime too!
